Just get going!14 January 2010 | No Comments | Archive/Search
Some of the things I need to do include:
In addition to all this I am trying to get ready for an impending adoption which will then throw my whole world upside down. Oh yeah, and I work full time. And help run the church’s kitchen ministry. And I’m trying to eat less and exercise more. And I need to sew some stuff for the nursery. And buy new curtain rods. I could go on, but you get the picture. It’s easy to sit here and think about how much I have to do and let it paralyze me. I read Chris Guillebeau’s post on his blog, The Art of Non-Conformity, today. What perfect timing! It’s about this very thing…being busy! He said a couple of things that I really liked:
So, maybe I need to prioritize, decide what truly needs to be done, and then set about accomplishing the most important things first. I know that I am capable of accomplishing a lot, so I need to just spur myself toward action and the more I accomplish, the less overwhelmed I will feel, and then I will be free to do other things as well. It’s a cycle. Get things done, have less to do, have more time for other things that I want to do, start on getting them done, and so on and so forth. I didn’t really have a point to all of this except to share that my life is busy (which Chris noted in his post people don’t care about, because they’re busy, too!). So, if I forget to call you, or forget to email you, or just plain forget something all together, then I’m sorry! But just think…when I manage to get all of this done, I will feel so good about it! Maybe that’s all the motivation I needed… posted in Etsy, Personal, Total Miscellany Log in to post a comment. You can follow the discussion through the Comments feed. |
