Narnia…at last!

21 January 2006 | No Comments | Archive/Search

Well we FINALLY went and saw The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe tonight!! We had waited to go and see it until we both had read the book, because I really prefer reading a book before seeing a movie based on one.

When we read the book, we actually went ahead and started with the first book, The Magician’s Nephew, which technically was the last book written, but was composed to be read before The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe. I am really glad we started with it first, because it gave us a more complete history and understanding of Narnia, Aslan and the Witch.

I thought the movie was fantastic! I was so anxious to see what the Witch would look like and Tilda Swinton was an outstanding choice! I loved her hair in the different sequences, and in the final battle scene she was stunning with her complete focus on destroying Peter! I thought she was excellent as Gabriel in Constantine, too. I also really enjoyed Mr. Tumnus, the Faun. I kinda thought he was attractive in a beastly sort of way.

I could go on and on, but I think everyone should go and see it for themselves! It gets two thumbs up from us!! Now I just have to read the other 5 books in the series!
